The 2nd RASCAS User meeting will take place at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon (France) from the 26th to the 29th of May 2026. RASCAS is a public, versatile, and collaborative massively-parallel 3D radiative transfer code designed to post-process arbitrarily large simulations and generate mock observations. Developed initially for Lyman-alpha applications, it has now been applied to line transfer in general (resonant, like Mg II, or not, like H-alpha), and even continuum.
The main objective of this 4-day workshop is to gather the growing community of RASCAS users and developers in order to share experience and foster future collaborative developments (code features, documentation, performance, etc). The program will consist of RASCAS-based scientific and technical presentations, as well as hands-on sessions.
The meeting is intended to both experienced users and beginners starting new projects with RASCAS.
We expect all participants to give a talk (short or long) to introduce themselves and the projects they have with RASCAS.
Participation is free of charge, but registration is mandatory.
The meeting will start at 2pm on Tuesday and end around noon on Friday.
